Unusual Cleaning Tips for a Spotless Floor

Are you looking for flooring cleaning tips as you're tired of filthy floors, even though you've just cleaned them? Have carpet stains you can't eliminate? Do not worry! These unique cleaning tricks will make your floors shine and sparkle! No matter if you're using laminate, wood or vinyl flooring, tile or carpet, these tricks can help you with the floor's cleaning issues!

Dirty Floor Prevention

The tips for cleaning below can be used to remove dirt from your floors; however, we can spare ourselves from the hassle by stopping the floors from becoming so filthy at all.

Here are some ideas that will keep floors looking fresher for longer.

Door Mats

A quality mat on each of the entrances to your house will keep dirt out before it makes its way into the home! Choose a durable mat that is weatherproof for outdoor use and a lightweight mat for indoor use.

Furniture Pads

Put felt pads on the bottom of your chair or furniture leg. This way, when furniture is moved, the furniture won't scratch your flooring!

Shoes Off

This one is controversial in many homes! We think that it is best to remove your shoes the moment you step into your home. This stops dirt and grime from the outside world from being carried around the flooring.

But there are some who hate to walk around naked and wear them all the time. Whichever you prefer, taking your shoes off at the door will reduce the dirt!

Floor Cleaning Tips

So let's start our list of floor-cleaning suggestions. You may have heard about these techniques previously; however, we're betting there are some fresh ones in here as well!

Microfiber Mop & Spray

We've been taught for years to use a mop and a bucket of water to scrub our floors. If you don't rinse the mop frequently, as well as change the water regularly and frequently, all you're doing is pushing dirty water around! Gross! You could instead try making use of a mop made from microfiber along with a spray bottle.

Squeegee for Pet Hair

If you're a pet owner, you're likely to contend with hair from pets! There are people who have cats and dogs, and it's an endless struggle!

Other households have a robot vacuum cleaner, which vacuums each day and sometimes cannot remove all hair from carpets (especially when the seasons change and the animals shed lots).

Instead, you can use the window squeegee to remove hair off of the carpet! It's great! It's also fantastic on sofas and other furniture that is soft.

It is possible to use it dry or spray a small amount of water onto the carpet first and move the squeegee along the carpet. You'll be amazed at how many hairs it can capture!

Tennis Ball for Scuffed Floors

Hardwood floors are beautiful. However, one thing that makes them look as good as ugly are scratches all over them! Linoleum is particularly susceptible to this kind of issue.

The easiest method of dealing with scratches is to use the tennis ball. Rub the scuff marks using the ball, and they will disappear in a flash!

Whatever you choose to do, don't apply a Magic Eraser to flooring made of wax or linoleum! It's a no-no! Magic Eraser will remove the shine and leave you with dull spots on the floor (we know this from experience).

Black Tea to Shine Wood Floors

The benefits of black tea are two different reasons for your flooring.

In the beginning, it can be used to hide scratches on floors made of wood (or any type or kind of wooden flooring). Simply use a tea bag with boiling water. The bag should remain within the water till you have reached the desired shade (the longer it is left to sit, the darker it becomes). Use the cotton swab to apply the stain on the scratches. The tea will color the wood so that scratches are less obvious.

Another way to make use of black tea is to give your floors a shine. Create a huge amount of black tea by using boiling water. After it cools, you can sweep your floors that are dark, just like you normally do. It will provide them with beautiful sparkle and will also help in cleaning them!
